The Women in Business program is the first initiative of its kind in Tajikistan. It aims to support women's entrepreneurship by providing targeted funding, access to know-how, as well as consultative support of the International Health System, managed by women. The loan is extended in conjunction with the technical assistance program for IMON INTERNATIONAL, which is aimed at the sustainable development of the lending mechanism.

International donors are funding a number of elements of the Women in Business program in Tajikistan, including insurance of the first loss, a technical support program, and consulting assistance. As of today an amount of 450 thousand USD is funded by the EBRD Small Business Development Fund, whereby Italy, China (Taipei), Korea, Luxembourg, the United States, Switzerland, and Sweden are its donors.

The specific feature of the Women in Business program is that new opportunities are emerging for women who have not previously dared to start-up their own business but due to the emergence of significant financial support from the EBRD they can enjoy such funding and start-up their own business. The 1 million USD loan, in TJS equivalent, will facilitate IMON INTERNATIONAL to finance women's entrepreneurship in Tajikistan. The program is funded by the EBRD and is accessible to small and medium-sized businesses run by women and promotes business development by providing access to financial, technical and know-how resources needed for business development. Tajikistan is the 17th country joining this global program of EBRD.
